I worked for over thirty years as an Executive Assistant/Personal Assistant in London working for investment banks to media companies but am now in the lucky position to follow my dream.
My passion has always been reading. I particularly love series, but because I read voraciously, I started making character lists and family trees for my favourite series. When I started working with Ruth Cardello, she asked me to make them for her and that’s when I realised how helpful my notes could be for authors.
Since then, I’ve learned to make detailed timelines, book bibles and series outlines. I have also learned how to go back and read a series for all references to a character when an author decides to write a book on them and wants to make sure they haven’t forgotten a pregnancy, relative, or physical description. I am comfortable creating documents ahead of time to help an author prepare for writing their next book. I’m equally comfortable fact checking a completed novel if provided with the previous books in the series. Have a unique project? I’m flexible as well. Describe it to me and I’ll send you an estimate based on the size of the project. I provide the following services: brainstorming sessions, developmental reads, content checks, line edits and final eyes. From working with Ruth Cardello I learned the value of giving positive feedback as well as suggestions. Ever wonder what readers are thinking as they read? My positive comments and questions will give you that insight.

Ruth Cardello
“I’ve worked with Amanda Coleman for several years and on many projects. She’s reliable, supportive and has a keen memory for details. I’ve utilized her services as a developmental editor, a proofreader, and for final eyes before hitting the publish button. She’s also a very well read sounding board for book ideas. It is with deep affection and gratitude that I recommend her editing services.”

“Ms. Coleman has an eagle eye for typos as well as an intuitive gift for story. In other words, she’s a treasure for any writer who values a fresh set of eyes on his/her manuscript. Beyond that, she’s a pleasure to work with and her turnover time is remarkable. Five big stars for Amanda Coleman’s services!”
